Specialization
Sports medicine, including non-operative, minimally invasive and arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, knee and elbow. He also performs general orthopaedic care and surgery, including joints, bones, muscles and related tissue.
Education and training
Undergraduate degree, the University of Virginia; medical school, MCP Hahnemann University School of Medicine; internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery, the University of Medicine & Dentistry-New Jersey Medical School. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine and reconstruction at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore, Md.

During his fellowship, Dr. Melegari was the assistant team physician for the NFL Baltimore Ravens, Johns Hopkins University, Loyola College, and Morgan State University, as well as team physician for St. Paul’s High School football team. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa.
